My “His Story” Is Continually His Work In Progress Christian Inspirational Wall Art Print by TS

His Story Unfolds at Sunrise

Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV

It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

The word “history” comes from the Ancient Greek word historia, meaning inquiry, learning through investigation, and an account based on what was discovered. It is not literally “his story” in the English pronoun sense. That common phrase is more of a wordplay than the true origin.

Still, as a follower of Christ, I love the phrase “His Story” because it points to something bigger than human timelines. I am talking about the story of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. The Old Testament points forward to the coming Savior. The New Testament proclaims His death and resurrection, and it points to His return.

And then there is my story, your story. In the span of a lifetime, we are here and gone quickly. Psalm 103 compares our days to grass that flourishes and then disappears when the wind passes over it. That perspective keeps me humble and focused. My life is not just a record of past events. It is being shaped right now by my daily walk with God, through Jesus, led by the Holy Spirit.

That is why the thought behind this image resonates with me. My “His Story” is continually His work in progress. You have heard it said, “I’m a work in progress,” and “God’s not done with me yet.” When you and I are walking in His will, those phrases are not excuses. They are reminders that He is actively shaping us, day by day.
